Deep acne scars are commonly referred to as %26quot;ice pick%26quot; scars.

Deep acne scarring can be difficult to treat as most peels do not level the skin enough to eliminate the %26quot;pitting.%26quot; Leveling can improve the number making scars of a lesser depth less noticeable. Then the remaining really deep scars can be surgically removed. Leveling is usually performed with a deep peel or two (usually CO2 laser) or traditional (not micro) dermabrasion.
Don%26#039;t seek treatment for scarring until your acne is under control. You don%26#039;t want to treat yourself for scarring only to make more.
